 At times, it didn't look all that pretty. But at the end of the day, it was pretty enough. In CAL's second outing -- this one against KCD, ranked 9th in the state according to the Kentucky coaches' association preseason coaches' poll -- God gave a 2-1 over arch rival, Kentucky Country Day. KCD opened the scoring with 28' remaining in the 1st half. It was Carson Gernert who found space on his left side... and an instant later, it was 1-0 KCD. CAL had to mature a bit. Christian Academy Men's Varsity opened their 2008 season Monday night against Louisville Collegiate with a 3-0 victory for CAL. Collegiate made it clear they were going to put up a strong fight and they never backed down, all the way to the last whistle.
