Welcome back! Coming back out of the KHSAA-mandated so-called "Dead Period" always makes me feel as if I'm emerging from the dark side of the moon having been out of contact with you for some time! :-) We're glad to see you again and we're looking forward to welcoming you at CAL Soccer this fall! Here are 7 quick announcements for CAL soccer players & their families.

*** 1) This coming season we're switching over to a new and exclusive "CAL-Soccer Alert" System, (sponsored by Skyrocket Soccer Academy). Please take note: if you receive a call on a number upon which you don't need notification, we'd appreciate you following the instructions to remove it from the call list (to make room for others to be added). Likewise, if you aren't on the call list -- or aren't sure -- feel free to contact Coach Lucas to be added. This paid service is sponsored by Skyrocket Soccer, which stages a soccer clinic for all ages each June at CAL. We appreciate their support, making it possible to skip the whole phone tree thing in 2008! The best news is -- you won't have to pay a thing to participate... and no phone tree calls ever again! :-) It should make it tons easier to get the word out quickly regarding changes due to weather, scheduling issues, or practice fields. (It will call every member of both/either the JV or Varsity team in 60 seconds or less.)

*** 2) Athletic Department's Mandatory Check-in was Saturday, July 12th -- If you missed it, please call the Athletic Dept. for information about what you need to turn in -- and make sure you have your CAL student athlete physical done by Tuesday night's tryouts.
